One
of the outstanding characteristics of Schechter Manhattan is the
commitment and investment of the parents. The mission of the Parents'
Association is to support the school through community building,
fundraising, and parent education. Examples of activities that support
this mission include: Coordinating the school-wide welcoming picnic,
supporting the Annual Benefit
Dinner, acknowledging life cycle events for the entire Schechter
Manhattan community, linking what our children are learning in the
classroom to our own education, providing pizza for the children in
honor of Rosh Chodesh (the new Hebrew month), holiday celebrations such
as Mishloach Manot (Purim Baskets), coordinating volunteer
opportunities for parents’ involvement in the school/classrooms and
organizing a school-wide Shabbaton.
