Volunteering - Getting Involved

There are many ways to get involved by volunteering in the Schechter Manhattan community. From the Parents Association to the Annual Benefit, from the Education Committee to organizing Pizza Day, volunteers help make our school run smoothly.

There are three portals to volunteer involvement:

Parents Association

The Schechter Manhattan Parents Association plays a critical role in the community, carrying out a wide range of activities that include:

  • Quarterly meetings
  • Weekly Challah orders
  • Lulav and Etrog orders for Sukkot
  • Mishloah Manot for Purim
  • The annual Wine Tasting event
  • Providing meals and other support for families in times of need
  • Working to build a strong sense of school community
  • Pizza day - Rosh Hodesh - celebrations

Visit the Parents Association website for more details, or email PA co-chairs Lilly Icikson and Susanna Kochan-Lorch at pa@sssm.org.

Parent volunteers play a huge role in making our Annual Benefit Dinner a success. It's a fabulous evening, and we're always looking for new helpers with:

  • Organizing the Silent Auction
  • Running the Raffle
  • Putting together the Benefit Tribute Journal
  • Organizing our Business Directory
  • Arranging decor and menu for the evening
  • General planning

Want to get involved? Visit our Annual Benefit page for more details, and email Danielle Klatsky, Development Associate at danielleklatsky@sssm.org or call 646-472-5396.
