Application Process

Important Deadlines and Information:

• Applications for kindergarten must be received on or before December 3rd.  Late applications will be accepted on a space-available basis only.
• Students applying for kindergarten must be 5 years old by December 31st of the year they begin to be eligible.
• Applications for grades 1 - 8 are accepted on a rolling and space-available basis.
• Schechter Manhattan offers Early Admissions!  Call the Office of Admissions to learn more.

 First Steps:

• Give the Office of Admissions a call (212-427-1087) or fill out an online inquiry form.
• Next, come and visit us!  Join us for a campus tour and see our school in action.

After you have visited our school and wish to apply, you will need to...

• Submit an application with a copy of your child's birth certificate and the non-refundable application fee of $100,
• Have your child register for an admissions evaluation through the ERB,
• Submit the Confidential School Information Form to your child's current teacher, and
• Have your child's school send us his/her transcript and copies of standardized test results.

Once we have received your application, we will...

• Contact you to schedule a playgroup (for kindergarten) or half-day school visit (for 1^st - 8^th ), and
• Contact you to schedule a parent interview with Dr. Steven C. Lorch, Head of School.
